BSNL Free Sunday Calls to Be Shut Down on February 1

BSNL Free Sunday Calls to Be Shut Down on February 1  State-claimed telecom organization Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) will pull back its free voice calling profits by landlines on Sundays from February 1.

The choice comes not long after the organization chose to control free night calling benefits.

"BSNL will pull back the free Sunday calling advantage from February 1. This will happen broadly. However, from Calcutta Telephones, we are dealing with a few designs which I think will moderate the effect for our clients," Calcutta Telephones (CalTel) Chief General Manager SP Tripathi told PTI.

Calcutta Telephones (CalTel) is BSNL's Kolkata unit.

That implies, like any weekdays, clients will be charged on Sundays for landline/combo/FTTH broadband plans.

It will be appropriate to both new and also existing clients, he said.

BSNL has officially amended the night voice calling plan in mid-January after which free calling is offered from 10.30 pm rather than 9 pm, CalTel Technical Secretary to the CGM Goutam Chakraborty said.

Free night calling and free Sunday calling were presented on August 21, 2016.

The new plans are being sent to the BSNL base camp for their endorsement and authorities are idealistic about the plans getting cleared soon.

Calcutta Telephones right now has six lakh settled landline associations out of somewhere in the range of 12 million associations the nation over.
